Gabellini Sheppard Associates masterfully developed David Yurman's New York City flagship store, receiving accolades for their exceptional design. Inspired by the architecture of the theatre, the three-tier concept brings together functionality, honesty of materials, and authenticity, resulting in a truly captivating space.

Upon entering the store from 57th Street, visitors are greeted by a soaring façade adorned with limestone, fluted granite, and a monolithic rose gold cross piece. This grand entrance sets the stage for a retail experience that unfolds like a performance. Inside, the interior design strikes a balance between warmth and subtle Brutalist elements, combining masculine and feminine energies through carefully selected forms and materials. Silver nickel and rose gold finishes enhance the display of exquisite jewelry, while marble and granite contribute to the luxurious texture and finish palette.

Flexibility was a key consideration in the store's design, allowing for future adaptations to support evolving product lines and marketing needs. Backlit, floating-panel wall systems can be easily transformed to showcase different materials, while display fixtures can be rearranged to accommodate captivating advertising campaigns.

The attention to detail extends to the floors and ceilings, with a custom geometric pattern of marble and limestone on the main floor, complemented by thick Dinesen oak planks on the upper levels. The oak ceiling features a concentric design of overlapping planks, adding texture and creating a sense of familiarity with the brand's heritage while embracing a new direction. The grand staircase serves as a highlight, featuring unique treatments of wood, stone, and glass. Textured Serizzio Formazza granite slabs, sculpted French oak, and crystal glass guardrails ascend in tactile and textured sophistication, creating a captivating axis within the store.

Gabellini Sheppard Associates also crafted custom furnishings, including a sculptural presentation table in the VIP room made of silver travertine with a nickel silver base. On the men's floor, a similarly designed table with a darkened nickel silver base and thick cork top complements the masculine-themed items on display.

This project garnered industry recognition, including the 2021 Interior Design Best of Year Award in the Small Retail category and the esteemed Architecture Masterprize. By blending theatrical inspiration, impeccable craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to the client experience, the David Yurman flagship store stands as a testament to the artistry and vision of Gabellini Sheppard Associates.
