Façade Installation at 611 West 56th Street Covered by Yimby New York

Façade installation has resumed at 611 West 56th Street, aka 823 Eleventh Avenue, a 450-foot-tall condominium tower in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza with SLCE as the architect of record, and developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY, the 37-story tower will yield 80 units designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates.

Renderings for New Aspen Residence Showcased by Uncrate

Sited on an acre lot on Aspen's most sought-after street, the Willoughby Way House brings a sleek, minimalist contrast to Colorado's rugged landscape. The 9,000 square foot dwelling balances the backdrop of mountains and forests with clean pitched forms inspired by modern Japanese design. Its 7-bedroom, 7-bath interior maintains a direct connection with the outdoors, enveloping living spaces in views of surrounding peaks while external terraces look out onto panoramas of Aspen Mountain, Highlands Mountain, Buttermilk Mountain, and even Independence Pass.

The XI’s Exterior Continues To Take Shape In Chelsea
Curtain wall installation is shaping up on The XI, a twisting pair of 36- and 26-story residential structures at 76 Eleventh Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by HFZ Capital Group, the 908,250-square-foot complex stands on the western side of the High Line along the Hudson River waterfront. The mixed-use property will yield 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resort Spa, which will be the first location in the United States. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction and Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing.

Among the 236 homes will be 87 units designed by Gilles & Boissier, while 149 residences will be fitted with interiors by Gabellini Sheppard. Prices range from $2,575,000 to $14,500,000. The XI makes a profound impact on the Chelsea waterfront along with other neighboring structures from famous architects such as Norman Foster, Frank Gehry, and Jean Nouvel.

Gabellini Sheppard Associates Renovates Rockefeller Center
The next phase of renovations at Manhattan’s historic Rockefeller Plaza will be reviewed by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in a public hearing on Tuesday, June 30. Tishman Speyer, current owner of the complex, has proposed a multitude of alterations as part of a masterplan conceived by Gabellini Sheppard Associates. This newly revealed component is specifically focused on the east lobby and mezzanine at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, also known as the International Building and 630 Fifth Avenue.
