1436 Officially Opens! A glimpse into the two-level 1436 Flagship Store located in the Kerry Center in Beijing, China. The spatial concept has been conceived as an intricate portrait of the world of 1436, combining the intrinsic values of the brand concept of modernity, warmth and relaxed elegance. The space manifests itself as a harmonious frame to focus and highlight the character of the company and the personality of the collection. Additional images to be released soon!

Congratulations Silvia Maffei for making Associate!

A little background on Silvia:

Architectural and interior designer Silvia Maffei joined the firm in 2010 and was promoted to Associate in 2016. A strong conceptual thinker, Maffei has developed numerous retail design projects for the firm including spatial branding concepts for J Brand, La Perla and Brioni. Maffei served as leading designer for the Beijing flagship store of the luxury cashmere label 1436; she also designed the retail portion of the NBC Lobby and Guest Experience at Rockefeller Center as well as Elena Mirò flagship boutiques in Italy and Moscow. Maffei has also managed construction administration for several residential projects at the firm, and served as project designer for the lobby and public spaces of the Álvaro Siza-designed condominium in New York and a mixed-use development in collaboration with Bjarke Ingels Group. Prior to joining Gabellini Sheppard Associates, Maffei worked in store design for Michael Kors and as a project architect for M Architetti. She also co-founded and designed a line of eyeglasses frames in Italy. Maffei earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Florence, a Master in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design, and a Ph.D in Civil Engineering from the University of Pisa. She is a licensed architect in Italy.
